Navpreet is a Family and Child Care Solicitor at Clark Brookes Turner Cary. Prior to joining Clark Brookes Turner Cary, Navpreet was the Head of the Family and Child Care department at a Manchester firm and formerly a Supervisor at a Legal 500 firm, where she managed a large team of Solicitors and Caseworkers.
Navpreet has significant experience in representing both Applicants and Respondents in a wide range of Family and Child Care matters including: Care Proceedings which include serious non-accidental injury, drug and alcohol abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, emotional harm and failure to protect from harm. Navpreet frequently represents clients in Special Guardianship Orders, Emergency Protection Orders, discharging Care Orders, Parental Responsibility Agreements and opposing Adoption Orders. Navpreet also represents parents at Child Protection Conferences and Public Law Outline meetings in order to assist parents in working with the Local Authority to prevent Care proceedings being issued.
Navpreet represents both Applicants and Respondents in Family and Children Law Proceedings which include Non-Molestation Orders, Occupation Orders, Child Arrangements Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders. Navpreet has experience in Female Genital Mutilation and Forced Marriage cases. Navpreet represented the Respondent Mother in the first Female Genital Mutilation case in England and Wales and was able to successfully discharge the Order made by the Court.
Navpreet represents clients in Divorce and Ancillary Relief proceedings, assisting them in successfully obtaining a Decree Absolute and the best outcome in relation to the division of assets. Navpreet is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Advanced Family Law Accreditation Scheme, which allows Navpreet to represent clients in complex Family Law cases.
Navpreet has extensive experience in representing clients with difficulties ranging from mental health issues, chronic drug and alcohol addiction to those with learning difficulties and disabilities. Navpreet undertakes her own advocacy and regularly appears before the Magistrates, Circuit and District Judges.
Navpreet represents both publicly funded and private clients. Navpreet speaks fluent Punjabi and can understand Hindi and Urdu for those who struggle to communicate in English.
